No, You Picked Her

I am, in no way, about to feel sorry for these white boys who went out of their way to hire some ghetto assed black strippers to come to their all white frat house. When your intentions are dirty, you are bound to get dirt. I don't know if someone at that house raped that girl or not but SOMETHING ignorant went on and this is the kind of thing that happens when you INTEND to do wrong in the first place. They were under aged and looking to make fun of some black chicks. Anything that happened after they decided to go BET is part of whatever game they played.

Last April, Duke lacrosse star Reade Seligmann huddled with his dad at a Durham, N.C., law firm. A stripper hired to perform at a team party on March 13 claimed several players raped her. In a lineup, she'd identified three of them as her alleged assailants. Seligmann now awaited a call from the prosecutor that would tell him if he was one of the players she'd singled out. He felt certain he would be cleared. The call came. Reade, 20, was being indicted for first-degree rape, kidnapping and sexual offense. He had a strong alibi—cell-phone records would show he was busy calling his girlfriend at the time the alleged crime was taking place—but the D.A. declined to hear it. As he heard the news, Reade looked at his dad. It was the first time he'd ever seen his father cry. Then it hit him: how was he going to tell his mom? Kathy Seligmann was home in New Jersey with her three other boys. He dialed her number. "Mom," he said, "she picked me."

I consider myself old but I know of girls who went to Duke and other schools in the South where white boys had to go through some "right of passage" where they HAD to find a black girl to sleep with. They were insulted and harassed. This is some Strom Thurmond shit and somebody got caught.

Hire some stank assed white girls next time!

While I usually agree with at Booker I am going to have to completely disagree that it's ok for these guys to have been falsely accused of rape just to make up for all of the nasty things that other white guys may have done in the past.

Here's the deal. There has been no trial or day in court for any of these people. We still don't know what happened that night and probably never will. But, I'm not ready to paint these guys as choir boys. No matter what way you slice it, their initial intentions were certainly no honorable and pure. My point is that sometimes the littlest bit of wrong mindedness or poor choices can snowball into a nightmare. My hope is that even if they are tried and acquitted of everything, more so than trying to play victim, they think about what got them into this situation in the first place and make better choices next time.
